Good morning!  We’re talking about anchors that hold us in troubled times, and I said that God is in the details of your life.  God will give you direction if you ask him, but here’s another really, really good one that helps me, and that is to know that God is the one who holds my present and my future.

If you’re like me, you watch TV and there’s so much craziness around the world right now, and so much happening on the national / global / political scale, that you may wonder, Is anyone in control?  When you see fluctuations in the markets, when you hear news of downturns in the economy, you wonder, Is God in control?  You can look at your own family and see kids that get a little wayward or your marriage starts to tank, and you’re like, Is anybody in control?  

Here’s the wonderful truth, there is a God in Heaven, and he’s in control.  You know for Daniel, Daniel was a young man who was in Israel and was deported to Babylon, it seemed like everything was out of control, but he was able to interpret a dream for a king.  Daniel was able to go to this king and tell him, King, you’ve been looking for answers among your sorcerers and among your wise men and your scholars, but there’s a God in Heaven, and he can tell you the truth, because he holds the future.

I love that phrase – there is a God in Heaven!  Listen, my friend, if you think everything is spinning out of control, there is a God in Heaven.  He loves you.  He has a plan for you.  He knows you.  He wants to speak to you, and if you seek him, you will find him, if you search for him with all your heart.  I pray that when you leave your computer today, you will really seek God, because he’s the one who holds your future in his hands.
