Good Morning! We’re talking about courage, and I said in order to have courage, you have to stand, even if it means you stand alone. You also need to obey, even if it means suffering.
I know you’re thinking, Whoa! Wait a minute! I want something uplifting! I don’t want to talk about suffering! However, suffering is a part of life. You know these three Hebrew men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, they were willing to take their stand even when they were facing a furnace! Can you imagine? You know we always hear the fiery furnace and all, but can you imagine standing in front of a furnace with the fire blazing and them saying, You’re going in there if you don’t bow your knee. Think of the courage that it took for them to say, We’re not going to bow even if it means suffering.
I was listening, not too long ago, to a Christian pastor who’s in northern Iraq, and all the craziness that’s going on out there. ISIS is slaughtering so many Christians and other people; I remember him saying, God told us to stay, so we’re going to stay. I mean, he’s looking into the furnace, and he’s willing to obey even if it means to suffer.
Are you willing to obey God even if it means hardship? You know the Bible says in II Timothy 3:12, For whoever desires to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. It’s just going to happen. When you take your stand, not everyone’s going to applaud that. But if you will take your stand, even when it means suffering, God will bless you, and God will use you to inspire other people to take their stand. So why don’t you take your stand today.
