Hi everybody! We’re talking about the fact that God cares! We said that God cares about your needs, and another thing God cares about is your troubles. God cares about your trials. Everybody faces crisis. Everybody faces troubles. Everybody faces situations that seem so big they can just swallow us up. God cares about the troubles that you are facing.
In the Old Testament, Nahum 1:7 says, The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble. He knows those who take refuge in him. I love that verse! I grew up in west Texas, and when tornados would come, everybody would run to the shelter, because if you’re in the shelter you are safe! That’s what Nahum said! The Lord is like a shelter! He’s a stronghold, and if you run there you can find safety. I love it – he also says, He knows those who take refuge in him.
You know, a lot of people when they face trouble don’t take refuge in God. They just kind of try to get through it. Maybe that’s you! You’ve been just trying to get through it. You don’t pray about it. You don’t really ask God for it. You’re not really casting your troubles on him, but listen, if you run to God, not only will he provide for you, but he will know you and you will know him in an even deeper way. Jesus said in John 16:33, In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world. Have you run to Jesus? Why not do that today?
